An indexing table, also known as an indexing plate, CNC rotary table, or A-axis, is a core functional component used in the dovetail slot broaching of precision parts such as aircraft engine turbine discs and gas turbine discs. It is responsible for high-precision circumferential indexing, secure clamping, and stable support of the workpiece.
The system is driven by a Siemens servo motor, which is compatible with the equipment’s Siemens control system. The motor drives a synchronous pulley via a reducer, which in turn drives a worm gear set to rotate the worktable—which is coaxial with the worm gear—enabling bidirectional rotation and stepless indexing. A high-precision HEIDENHAIN angle encoder provides real-time feedback on the current rotation angle of the turntable to the system, thereby enabling closed-loop position monitoring. This corrects any errors between the theoretical and actual indexing positions, fully ensuring the rotational positioning accuracy of the indexing table.
The turntable is capable of 360° indexing at any angle. It is equipped with a pressure booster and hydraulic valves, and utilizes a ring-type plunger spring clamping mechanism. During indexing, the clamping force is hydraulically released, ensuring stable and reliable operation throughout the process.
The indexer can be customized according to user requirements, including clamping torque and turntable height, to meet specific operational needs.
